What We Believe

The Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God, where the divine will for humankind is revealed. It is the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

One God – eternally existent in three persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – is the Sovereign Lord and Creator of all things; the God who is above us, with us, and for us is Love!

God the Father reigns with loving providential care over His universe, and has intervened all through its history to bring His good purposes to completion.

God the Son, Jesus Christ, is the Author and Lord of life who became a man for our sakes. His deity, virgin birth, sinless life, death as a sacrifice for our sins, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and promise to return in power and glory, represent humanity’s only hope for salvation.

God the Holy Spirit is our Advocate, the Spirit of Jesus, who comes to live inside each believer at the moment of salvation; He enables people to understand truth and respond to it; He cultivates Christian character, strengthens believers to witness, makes them one in Christ, and teaches them to love as Christ loved.

All human beings, created in God’s image, have sinned and become destitute of God’s glory, resulting in spiritual bondage and death; therefore, all alike are in need of salvation. Christ’s death on the cross was both the consequence and the payment for our sins, and through His resurrection He offers eternal life to all who place their trust in Him.

Salvation is only by grace (an undeserved gift) through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. As we respond to His call to discipleship, He teaches us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.

The Church is both local and universal. The local church is a congregation of believers united together for worship, fellowship, instruction, ministry, and mission, under the leadership of Christ’s Spirit, exercising His gifts for the benefit of the Body. The church universal is all the redeemed of all the ages.

The two ordinances of the local church are believer’s baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper (Communion).

Tithes and free-will offerings are the scriptural example of the financial support of the local church.
